Tokyo Revengers

 Written at the end of S1 E1

Tokyo Revengers: Another dumb title, and the premise is the very essence of Japanese wish fulfilment -- an unfulfilled loser in his 30s becomes a highschooler again, and gets a second chance.

But, it's because of Time Travel, my favorite mechanism for any story, and there's a little bit of spice in it, as the time travel isn't just a one-and-done event, promising something a little more than "guy goes back in time and is suddenly a super chad at everything".

If you're going to pick a wild card, this season, this might be it.

Attack on Titan: "The Final Season"

Written at the midpoint of the "Final" season, S4 E16 Attack on Titan: the "final season" has aired, but it's been split, so the story isn't quite done yet. Still, despite my wavering view on it over the years, from hot to cold and back to slightly above room temperature, I still think it warrants a watch, best marathoned so you're not cucked by the cliffhangers it's so fond of. The series is quite the rollercoaster, and certainly grim with a high body count, but I think it escalates pretty reasonably - with every obstacle they overcome, they discover another, bigger threat, and the rabbit hole just gets deeper.  Several years ago, I was told that there's a timeskip and they go from fighting titans with jetpacks on wires and boxcutter swords, to a world war scenario.
